With no changes iShares Alternatives models this week, we turn our attention to recent improvement in the oil sector. There are upcoming changes iShares model lineup.

There are no changes to any of the iShares Alternatives models this week. As we have discussed in various sections of the DWA Daily Equity Report, we have recently seen improvement in Crude Oil CL/ and oil sector stocks and as noted in yesterday's Were You Aware ...? the oil sector bullish percent chart reversed up into X's on Monday. Those seeking to exposure to this strengthening sector may wish to consider the iShares U.S. Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF IEO. IEO currently has a fund score of 4.47 and strong positive score direction of 2.5. The fund recently broke a spread triple top at $65, and on its default chart, it currently sits one box away from breaking another spread triple top at $71, which would mark a multi-year high. IEO currently sits in overbought territory, at 84%, so those seeking to add exposure may be well-served to look for a pull back from current price levels. Those long may consider using a trend violation as a stop loss moving forward.

We wanted to take this opportunity to alert you to some upcoming changes to the iShares models lineup and the weekly iShares reports.  First, the iShares Alternative Report and iShares Equity Report will be consolidated into a single, all-encompassing iShares report, the “iShares ETF Report”. Additionally, the models will be streamlined and reduced to four models that can be seen as the essential portfolio building blocks. The inventories of the remaining models are currently going through an evaluation to determine if there are ways to expand coverage within the model’s asset class. The models that will remain are:
