Below are highlights from the NDW Morning Update Video for the morning of 9/18/26. Access the video on the NDW Morning Update Video page.

  • Markets pushed higher on Thursday after the market digested the Federal Reserve’s FOMC meeting on Wednesday. The Nasdaq Composite led the way to the upside with a 1.69% gain. However, the Nasdaq Composite has significant overhead resistance from here to 27,000.
  • Healthcare moved to the top of DALI’s sector rankings in recent weeks, but the move was previously driven by subsector strength from areas like drugs and biotech. On Thursday, we saw the Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) regain near-term market relative strength, pushing its fund score above 4.5 for the first time since 2024.
  • Commodities were relatively muted on the day, but one areas that saw upside was copper, with the United States Copper Index Fund (CPER) rising 2.77%. CPER moved to a negative trend earlier this week, but still holds a strong fund score of 4.58 given its longer-term relative strength.
  • Generac Holdings, Inc. (GNRC) popped more than 18% after the announcement of a partnership with Amazon, but it was still unable to move into a positive trend, keeping it as a weak 2 for 5’er for now. Meanwhile, Amazon rose 2.13%, but it remains more of a hold than anything as a 3 for 5’er due to its lack of market relative strength.
  • The bullish percent for large cap growth stocks (^BPLCG) peaked at 74% in August, but has since moved significantly lower to its current levels just above 40%. Conversely, the bullish percent for large cap value stocks (^BPLCV) peaked at 68% in August but has yet to even reverse back into a column of Os, with it currently at 64%. Said differently, a third of growth stocks have moved to a sell signal over the last month while only 4% of value stocks have done so.
